The Témiscamingue region occupies an immense territory of 20,000 square kilometres and is situated along the lake that carries the same name. The territory, typically rural, has a population of 18,000 people in 20 municipalities and four Algonquin communities.

• 95% of the territory is covered by lakes and forests;
• There are 7,500 lakes and rivers;
• There are 5 big lakes: Témiscamingue, Simard, Des Quinze, Kipawa and the Decelles reservoir;
• The Algonquin community represents approximately 13% of the population
